Julie Chen Moonves is the host of Big Brother's 22nd season, premiering on CBS 5 August 2018. Chen Moonves served as the moderator and one of the early hosts on The Talk. She won an Daytime Emmy Award for her work. The real reason she was interested in the show came after she began writing and received an Emmy. Her hosting an exceptional entertainment talk show won her an additional Emmy. The Talk examines contemporary events, through the lens of five female hosts. Chen Moonves hosted CBS News the early morning news program The Early Show for a decade. Her previous roles included anchoring the CBS Morning News and The Early Show. Chen Moonves was assigned to Cairo after 9/11. In Cairo, she scoured her down and spoke with the father of the hijackers in an eye-opening and fascinating interview. Chen Moonves has interviewed newsmakers such as the former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, the Queen Rania of Jordan, former Defense Secretary William Cohen, and celebrities including Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Viola Davis, Tom Hanks, Mary J. Blige, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Cruise, Ben Affleck, Barbra Streisand, Betty White, Jamie Foxx, Scarlett Johansson, Katie Holmes, Matthew McConaughey, Chris Rock, Mel Brooks, Robert DeNiro, and Jennifer Lopez. Chen Moonves has also worked at the network's New York City station WCBS, as a reporter, anchor, as well as a producer (1997-1999). Prior to joining CBS News from 1995 Chen Moonves had been an anchor and reporter for WDTN TV Dayton. While completing her last year of University, she served as an assistant at ABC News in Los Angeles (1990-1991) as well as the director of ABC NewsOne (the network's affiliated news channel). Her first job in broadcasting was as a desk associate to ABC News' late-night broadcast Nightline with Ted Koppel, who remains one of her journalists' heroes.
